It took me a very long time to understand what that truly meant. I was a young lost girl who gave my negative thoughts way too much attention. As a result I landed myself in this space that hindered my growth and my happiness.
I started by paying more attention to my thoughts. I started to become more aware of how I thought of certain things, people and or situations in my life. I asked myself were my thoughts detrimental or were my thoughts supporting me and helping me advance my life?
I then found out – It was time to re-program & discipline my mind

As people we all have positive thoughts and we all have negative thoughts. That’s just how our minds are programmed to work. I’m now learning which thoughts to invest time in and which thoughts to let fade away.
Mindset is everything! Thoughts are so important and most of us don’t realize how our thoughts shape our reality. From the things we think, to the things we hear, to the things we say. These all have a way in converting themselves into life experiences, our speech and even our actions.
It’s a proven fact that the things you focus on the most – expands and the things you give most of your attention to gets bigger.

Build a growth mindset for happiness
A growth mindset is the belief that we can change ourselves. When we build a growth mindset for happiness, we believe we can change our happiness. Knowing that you have control over creating your own happiness makes you work harder towards reaching it.
Flip Negatives Into Positives
Your mind can only focus on one thought at a time, positive or negative. When you find yourself having a negative thought replace it with a positive thought, immediately. Don’t give yourself the time to dwell into that negative thought. Practicing this over time, your mind will begin to focus on the good rather than the bad.
Stay Focused on What Makes You Happy

The happiest people go out of their way to treat themselves right each day. I think it’s worth it to be happy. Finding happiness in yourself and other things can help you find out who you are as a person. Once you know the things that make you happy spend more time doing just that.
Surround Yourself With Like Minded People Who Contribute To Your Growth
I learned that everyone should not be allowed into your life. Most people want to see you do good – but never better. Knowing which people to invest time in and which people to release from your life is one of the hardest things to do. But you are what you attract – so be the change you want to attract.
If you surround yourself with negative people, you will become a negative person.
If you surround yourself with hateful people, you will become a hateful person.
If you surround yourself with people that don’t have goals or ambition, chances are you won’t have any either.
I’m only speaking from experience. I had to learn how to focus on the positive things I was doing and let go of the negative ones. Trust me it’s not easy, to be honest, it’s still ongoing, but I do know – It’s hard to live a positive life when negative people and behaviors continually pull you down. So you make a change.
